How do I choose the right attorney? The right attorney is the one best able to maximize the strengths of your case and minimize any weaknesses, while providing you the highest degree of personal service. Some attorneys are too busy to effectively handle your case. They may hand your case off to an inexperienced associate. Other attorneys lack the knowledge or resources to take on a large case, especially if it involves complicated matters of science or medicine. Still other attorneys lack the motivation to aggressively push a case as hard and fast as possible. For all these reasons, the right attorney should have an impressive reputation, proven results, and a willingness to provide you the personal service you deserve.

How long will my case take? Each case is unique. A particular case can take anywhere from several days to several years. In rare instances, a case can last even longer. An important factor is the complexity of the case and the quality of your attorney. Additionally, some insurance companies are notorious for refusing to provide reasonable offer until after suit is filed or even just before trial. When confronted with these companies, your attorney’s ability to prepare your case for trial is critical. The idea is to convince the insurance company they have more to lose at trial than with a settlement. If they continue to provide a low ball offer, your attorney must posses the knowledge, skill and experience to prove the insurance company wrong at trial.
